In a world increasingly dominated by fast fashion and mass production, Portuguese brands offer a refreshing alternative—high-quality pieces rooted in creativity, tradition, and sustainability. Shopping locally isn’t just about style; it’s about supporting a community of artisans whose work reflects the unique soul of the country. In this post, I’ll share some of my favorite Portuguese brands in 2025 and why choosing them over mainstream options makes all the difference.

MIRAKAYA
I found MIRAKAYA at the Spot Market in Lisbon and had the opportunity to speak with the owner Raquel Pinto. Her clothes were a step ahead what I normally see, with high quality design and manufacturing. A brown dress caught my attention and when I learnt that it was 100% cotton, and she showed me all the small details of the dress, I had to buy it. Raquel has eye for detail that will ensure MIRAKAYA success in the fashion world.
MIRΛKΛYΛ is a Portuguese brand born from the desire for change. It is much more than fashion. It is a manifesto for environmental awareness, for the uniqueness of women and for respect for the Earth. In each piece we make, in our atelier we intertwine quality, history and a deep commitment to the planet, using natural and recycled materials. From our home, Portugal, to the world, we create timeless, minimalist and comfortable pieces, with a touch of Japanese influences. With the waste from the collections we create capsule pieces. Black is the main color, but we love color combinations. Each oversize creation is an ode to feminine and masculine uniqueness, produced with love and dedication in small quantities and exclusively. Because each woman and man is unique and special, as is each MIRΛKΛYΛ piece.

Beautiful & affordable ceramics for your entire home. I have purchased a few interesting pieces for my home here, and I can’t wait to continue to build my kitchenware with these beautiful colorful locally-made ceramics.
GUAJA Studio
GUAJA. is a Portuguese Prêt-a-Porter brand, that combines high quality, timelessness, and sustainability in all its pieces. It was founded in 2019, at the hands of two sisters and their mother, who are responsible for all the processes associated with the brand.
ARCHES
ARCHES is an apparel, accessories and homewares manufacturing company and brand. They make the highest quality pre-developed ‘blanks’ possible while ensuring less waste and a more circular system of consumption.
EMENTA
A surf/skate brand built by Lisboeta friends in 2007, they have been steadily growing their clothing and accessory brand. You can find them at many of the markets, as well as their stores in Lisbon.

SIENNA
At Sienna, they believe in the uniqueness of a small production and pieces that last. Maria, born in Lisbon and taught the art of seamstress by her grandmothers, she always looking for fabrics and details that make my pieces stand out. She doesn’t follow trends but, aims to make clothes for women that feel both comfortable and create confidence.
